4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come closer to me.” And they came closer. He said, “I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt. 5 And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life. 6 For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there are five more years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest. 7 God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to keep alive for you many survivors” Genesis 45:4-7.
I love this moment when Joseph reveals himself to his brothers who sold him into slavery in Egypt many years ago. Verse 7 speaks so much truth to us about how God often turns our sin into a grace: “7 God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to keep alive for you many survivors.”
Dear friends, God often turns our sins into a blessed source of HOPE. Joseph never stopped placing his HOPE in God, in Yahweh! We need to do the same. So today in your prayer, give thanks to God for for turning so many bad things into good things. Today, thank God for placing your HOPE in Him. Consider the tremendous gift of HOPE in your life. Where would you and I be without the HOPE that comes from and is placed in Jesus Christ?
HOPE is one of the three great gifts of God that matter the most: “13 And now faith, hope, and love remain, these three, and the greatest of these is love” 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
Dear Lord, we thank you for the gift of HOPE. May we never tire of placing our HOPE in You, and in You alone. Through You, with You, and In You there is HOPE. And for this we give you humble thanks.
“To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27.
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” Romans 5:5.
“For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience”
Romans 8:24-25.
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love”
1 Corinthians 13:13.
