Sometimes in my spiritual life I am absent from the Lord or struggling or preoccupied with something in my life, and so when I realize that this is occurring I pray to God that He would make Himself felt in my heart, in my life, so that I may remember Him and pay attention to His Loving and Holy Presence in my life. I can get caught up in my thoughts and life and slowly, most often imperceptibly, edge away from the Lord and from my awareness of His Presence. Rather than beating myself up about this, I pray to God for His loving and merciful grace to draw me back to His actual presence in my daily life. I know of no other thing except to turn to the Lord and to His Presence again. I pray for a deep desire to feel His Presence in every thought and decision I make in my day.
Oh Lord, draw me back to You, for where else can I go,
for You have the Words of everlasting life,
and You alone are my Creator, my Savior, the Sustainer of my life.
Give me Your sufficient grace
to feel Your presence in my heart and soul,
so that I may live entirely aware of Your presence.
Heal me, forgive me, fill me with your Holy Spirit.
This I pray through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, amen!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God” Hebrews 13:15.
“Pray without ceasing” 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
“Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone” Ephesians 2:20.
“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test” 2 Corinthians 13:5!
