...daily prayer for healing...

I hope you know that God will heal through your prayers. If you have things in your own personal life that need the healing of God, or you have friends who need healing, pray. Jesus did this and gave us example after example of the power that resides in our prayers. In Luke’s Gospel it says this, for example: “On their return the apostles told Jesus all they had done. Then, taking them along, He slipped quietly into a city called Bethsaida. When the crowds found out about it, they followed Him, and He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God and healed those who needed to be cured” Luke 9:10-11. A central part of the mission and purpose of Jesus’ life must also be ours — to pray for everyone who needs the healing touch of our loving God. We must pray for healing. We must be OK with what I call “glorious interruptions” — daily moments when people tell us of their troubles and heartaches. We might be weary and disgruntled with this interruption in our life, but to pray for them and to ask God for healing is central to our lives. Never believe for a moment that your prayers cannot be used by God to heal, to bring peace.

When you consider all of the time and all of the stories of Jesus being among the people and praying for them and healing them, there must be a signal, a teaching in these moments for us all. Jesus came to the wounded to heal them and to save them in every way. You can also do the same, indeed, you and I must do the same. Pray in every way and don’t put it off to tomorrow. “Tomorrow” is a killer of prayer. Pray for healing. Expect healing to take place, and become a pray-er for healing in peoples’ lives.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases” Psalm 103:3?

“And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people” Matthew 4:23.

“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover” Mark 16:17-18.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed” Isaiah 53:5.
