There are infinite blessings when we begin to pray daily, when we begin to sit quietly in the presence of God. Simply put, by practicing daily the presence of God we come to know God. And when we begin to know God deeply, which is God’s life desire for each of us, we begin to desire more than anything else to live with daily acts of love and worship of God. We begin to beg God for His mercy for our life of sin, and we begin to trust Him, to praise Him, to see Him in everyone and in everything, and we desire that each day we may be used by Him to serve Him.
There are just no comparisons that come to us when we seek daily the presence of God. He hears this desire, this prayer, in fact He alone puts this desire into our hearts, and He opens us up to His presence in His own time and in His own very personal ways. Our desire becomes that we might live our remaining days and hours in His presence. This is a life given to us only through the grace of God, and while most of us will never reach this kind of living so deeply, it can become our only desire, knowing that God can grace us with a desire to embrace this kind of living.
It makes me so terribly aware of my failings and sin that I have no where else to go, no one else to whom I can turn, except to the Lord our God!
Oh Lord turn me to Your heart! Turn me to Your presence. Use me in the remaining days and hours of my life. Forgive me! Heal me. Help me! I love You and seek You!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God have mercy on me a sinner.
