“11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but imitate what is good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God” 3 John 11.
This is the kind of verse you can read when you start your day reading the Bible for just a bit. I read this and then I talk to God, I pray to God:
Oh God, thank You for this very straightforward word from You. Help me to stay away from evil today and instead to imitate You. Only You are Good, and so with Your grace, with you giving me what I need, not what I deserve, today let me do only what is good. Use my graced faithfulness to witness to others about You. Keep speaking to me through my day.
In Your Holy Name, I pray, JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD, Amen!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
From the Bible:
“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” Galatians 6:9.
“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works” James 2:14?
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people” Colossians 3:23.
