...doing all for the sake of Christ...

God always gives us His Light when we are filled with doubts and regrets.

Jesus just didn’t come once, 2,000 years ago, and then only occasionally tap into our lives here and there. No, Jesus is closer to us more than we can ever know. He loves us and heals us and forgives us constantly. Our daily prayer and quiet time in His presence is His great gift to us to realize these truths about Him and His love for us. In our daily prayer and quiet time in His presence our focus is to love Him and to please Him in everything we do. When we are committed to this daily prayer time with Our Lord we discover that what matters is not changing what we do so much as doing everything to please Him, doing everything for Him!

Oh Lord may I do everything today for You!

May everything I do, and may every thought

and every decision be done in love of You and in service of You!

This is an approach to living that focuses not on what we do but on pleasing and serving the Lord in everything we do. Paul writes about this in his 1st Letter to the Corinthians: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” 1 Corinthians 10:31. “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” Colossians 3:17. This way of living will have a profound blessing on others, just as the Lord promises us: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” Matthew 5:16.

So don’t worry about “doing certain things in your life” as much as “doing all for the love of God.” The simplest things, done for the sake and love of God, bring blessings! Paul writes: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men and women, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” Colossians 3:23-24. Remember what Jesus says: “Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you” John 6:27. For “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work” John 4:34.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father” John 14:12.

“And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return” Genesis 3:17-19.
