...give it all away...

In Mark’s Gospel Jesus said something that has had a great impact in my life: “19 Go home to your own people, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and what mercy He has shown you” Mark 5:19.

God has surprised me all of my life by the people He has brought into my life. In every way they have become part of my family. And the one thing the Lord has taught me is that living the Christin life has no brakes. No, everything we receive from God in life comes to us on its way to others. Nothing God has given us belongs just to us! No, everything is meant to be shared, to be given away to others. When we do this, what God gives us actually becomes bigger and more important to us. It has more meaning and significance when we share it or give it away.

So go home to your own people, to all the people God brings into your life each day, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and what mercy He has shown you. In that way you will be living the Christian life to the fullest, for you will be giving away with your words and choices and decisions all that God has given to you.

Pray today that God will empower you to do just that — to give everything away that God has given to you. To share the Lord with others is to tell others how much the Lord has done for you and what mercy He has shown you. Pray for the grace to do this — starting today!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul”

Psalm 66:16.

““Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him” Luke  8:39.

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” Matthew 5:16.

“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation” Mark 16:15.
