...give them something...

Jesus says some of the most comforting words I have ever heard, words that speak of the beauty of reading His Word and reflecting on them, and then praying about what He says. In Mark’s Gospel Jesus said this: “Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest” Mark 6:31.

When Jesus invites us to come with Him to a quiet place, He is speaking about an inner place within our heart, a place where we feel His presence and hear Him speak to us. It is a place where all distractions and thoughts have disappeared and we are just in His presence. The quiet place is the Lord. He is present and loves us. Rest with Him and rest in Him. Let Him guide you and heal you and give you soul rest.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me” Matthew 25:35.

“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works” James 2:14-18.

“Whoever gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse” Proverbs 28:27.
