Saturday of the Third Week of Lent

1 Come, let us return to the Lord, for it is he who has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. 3 Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord; his appearing is as sure as the dawn; he will come to us like the showers, like the spring rains that water the earth” Hosea 6:1-3.

Yesterday we looked at Hosea 14; today we look at Hosea 6. And we find a repetition of the theme that is imbedded in Hose’s heart: Return To The Lord! “Come, let us return to the Lord…and He will heal us” Verse 1.

Then Hosea speaks words that melt my heart: “Let us press on to know the Lord” Verse 3.

Pray as we approach Palm Sunday, Maundy/ Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and easter Sunday. Pray that the grace of God will put into your heart the desire to press on to know Him. Remember that knowing God is a matter of the heart, not the head. To know Christ has to show up in the soles of your feet, where holes are plentiful from walking alongside others to help them come to know the Lord.

To return to the Lord and to press on to know Him is a gift, a desire the Lord puts into our hearts, that comes to us on it way to others. Trust that the Lord will bring someone into your life to whom you can show the way to return to the Lord and to press on to know Him! now I know what you are thinking, so remember the words of Jesus to His disciples: “19 Do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you at that time, 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you” Matthew 10: 19-20.

Let God use you!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
