"22 Jesus said, ‘Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive’” Matthew 21:22.
For me personally, this statement of Jesus assures me that, when I pray, I have to remember that Jesus wants the best for all of us. So to pray in faith reminds me to pray remembering what Jeremiah said, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11. No matter what I need or want from God, my prayer always reflects the fact that what I want to remember more than anything else is that God’s “kingdom come” and God’s “will be done” in every prayer and in every aspect of my life. So I don’t have to worry about God’s answer to my prayer because I know it will be what is best for me.
So that is what “praying in faith” means to me. I pray trusting in God’s answer. I have nothing to worry about!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
