...it's never too late...

Paul’s comment in his letter to the Philippians has always meant so much to me in my life: “6 I am confident of this, that the One who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6.

Dear friends, in the spiritual life it is always better late than never to follow Christ! It is always better late than never to return to Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness and mercy. It is always better late than never to pray, today, even if you haven’t prayed for awhile. Yes, in the spiritual life it is always better late than never. In other words, as the text above tells us, God is never finished completing the good work of our lives which He began in each of us since our birth, and that God who is working in each of us will continue His work in us until the end of the world, “until the day of Jesus Christ.” Luke spoke of this in his description of the final moments of Jesus’ life on the cross. One of the criminals said to Jesus, “42 …Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingdom.” 43 Jesus replied, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise’” Luke 23:42-44. It was never too late for this criminal to ask Jesus for forgiveness and to follow Christ!

So dear friends, I implore you to stay with the Lord, in good times and in bad. Return to Him every time you think of it! For it’s never too late. So today ask the Lord to bring you into paradise because you believe in Him and want to repent now. It’s never too late!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11.

“Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10.

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord”

Psalm 27:14!
