...let Christ shine...

“21 He said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under the bushel basket or under the bed and not on the lampstand? 22 For there is nothing hidden, except to be disclosed; nor is anything secret, except to come to light. 23 If you have ears to hear, then hear!” 24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear; the measure you give will be the measure you get, and it will be added to you. 25 For to those who have, more will be given, and from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away”Mark 4:21-25.

God’s purpose is not to dim the light in darkness but to make it manifest to all. This parable speaks of the glory of God which is revealed to all of us indirectly and in disarming ways through parables that function as riddles, through weakness, suffering, and death. We will struggle with Jesus so long as we remain in our own darkness. We cannot be so dazzled by our world, or so disappointed in it, that we remain clueless about God. We cannot allow our ears to be deafened by the din of the world in which we live. Today, many do not hear God or see God because they listen to and look at son much of what is Social Media.

God discloses His glory and love indirectly. Pray that you will not live as one who does not recognize God. Don’t let the lamp lay underneath a basket. Don’t get sucked into a life that lets God become a hidden God.

So take time today to pray in the presence of God that He will open you up to Him!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“Pay attention to what you hear” Mark 4:24.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” John 10:27.
