Monday of the Second Week of Lent
“36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. 37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; 38 give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap, for the measure you give will be the measure you get back” Luke 6:36-38.
What a beautiful text for Lent! Receive God’s compassion, and you will be able to be compassionate to others. Do not receive negative judgement from God, and you will be able to be compassionate. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Give and it shall be given to you. Jesus promises reciprocity between what we have received or not received, and how we will give or not give. It’s all about remaining inside the Love of God, who is the Trinitarian God. God flows and pours over our lives.
Today bring this desire to the Lord in prayer: Lord, may I mirror You in my life.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
From the Bible:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:35-39.
