...love the Lord...

In the spiritual life what is needed are not methods or styles for going to God, but only a heart that desires to follow Christ — and only to follow Christ — before anything else. Everyday. In the spiritual life all that any of us needs is to love God only. First and foremost, day after day after day, the purpose and goal of life is to love God. Let that be your prayer! Let that be your heart! Let that be your single pursuit in life! Let that be your daily plan for this day, and for tomorrow, and for the day after tomorrow.

Amen!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Oh that I will love You Lord today!

From the Bible:

“You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” James 4:4.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever”

1 John 2:15-17.

“For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people” 2 Timothy 3:2-5.

“Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” Ephesians 5:2.

“And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing”

1 Corinthians 13:2.

“And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother” 1 John 4:21.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself” Matthew 22:37-39.

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul” Deuteronomy 10:12.
