...no more denial...

Pilate Questions Jesus

11 Now Jesus stood before the governor, Pilate, and the governor asked Him, ‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ Jesus said, ‘You say so.’ 12 But when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he did not answer. 13 Then Pilate said to him, ‘Do you not hear how many accusations they make against you?’ 14 But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed” Matthew 26:11-14.

How many times have we spoken ill of God, especially regarding His silence before the most inhumane events in our society and lives? We stand silent when others speak of God’s distance, blaming God for the worst things in the world. We silently listen to others speak of Jesus as someone who doesn’t answer our prayers, nor does He step in and stop wars and gun violence. And sometimes by our actions and choices we abandon the Lord.

Let us not be like Pilate, the governor, who said to Jesus, “Do you not hear how many accusations they make against you” Verse 13?

Lord, give us hearts and voices that will never again blame You.

We know You love us, after all, You gave us life.

Give us Your grace and strength to follow You

and to speak up when others speak ill of You.

In Your name we lift this prayer to you. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“But whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven” Mathew 10:33.

“So everyone who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven” Matthew 10:32.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it” Jeremiah 17:9?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.

“If we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us”

2 Timothy 2:12.
