...no more falling...

Jesus once said this: “A house divided against itself will fall” Luke 11:17.

I have always applied this truth spoken by Jesus to my own life, and today I invite you to apply it to your life. If I am divided in my own life, if my heart is divided, too often serving two masters, if my life is a life of division in the choices I make, then I am a “house divided.” Jesus comes to us, to all of us, to take away the division that too often identifies our life and describes how we live. Jesus comes and forgives us and draws us into His heart of love, calling us to follow Him.

We are divided within ourselves because we sin, because we do not often pray the words of Jesus: Lead us, Lord, away from temptation and deliver us from evil. We think we have the strength to push back on our own against Satan who tempts us daily to give into his temptations, all of which lead us to be a divided person. We fail because without Christ we are powerless and can accomplish nothing! We fall! We take a different path that brings us to the edge where we slip and fall in life.

So today, admit this to the Lord and ask Him for His grace and mercy and love. Follow Christ! Pray today that you do not want to be divided anymore in your life - about anything!

Lord, let me not fall anymore. Instead, let me follow You. Let me trust in You.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7.

“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” Matthew 26:41.

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

“Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires” Romans 13:14.
