...no worry...

22 And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, nor about your body, what you shall put on” Luke 12:22.

Is this not one of the most comforting things Jesus ever spoke? I have prayed so often over the years of my life for people not to worry. In fact, this is probably the single most common request I have received from others for prayer.

So dear friends, today I invite you to think of the things about which you worry. Give them ALL to Christ in today’s prayer.

Pray that you will not worry. Ask God for this.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”Philippians 4:6-7.

Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7.

Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad”

Proverbs 12:25.

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these…” Matthew 5:25-34.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” John 14:27.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” Matthew 6:33-34.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10.
