When in the spiritual life we are faithful to Almighty God we have no one else to thank except our Almighty God. Faithfulness to God comes by keeping ourself in the Presence of the Almighty One! For when Our Lord is always before us and we are doing everything through the grace of God to say “No” to offending and sinning against the Holy One, and we are doing all we can not to offend Him, we are free as never before in our human life, and such freedom is a holy freedom not found on our own, but discovered as the pure gift of love of God. So I implore you to repeat every prayer and action that the Lord has used to draw You into the freedom that comes only from His Presence. Be deliberate! Be stingy with what you think and do — and let every moment be for love of God. Give God thanks for all He is in your life, and for all He does in you and through you. For it is incumbent upon us all to remember that every good thing, every grace and blessing from the Almighty One comes to us on it’s way to others. The freedom that is ours in Christ is to be given to others as we live out our days. Such giving away resides within our loving hearts. Pray for all those whom God has brought into your life and pray for those who are distant.
For example, the world today is sadly silent in public, international prayer for the end to the most destructive and horrible war in Ukraine:
Lord please hear our broken hearts
for those who are suffering and dying
from completely self-centered lies
and the destruction of human life.
We pray that You bring a stop to this insanity,
to the war in Ukraine, as only You can do.
In Your holy Name, we pray.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
From the Bible:
“6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7.
“22 So you have pain now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. 23 On that day you will ask nothing of me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete” John 16:22-24.
