...rejoice and be glad...

Monday of the Fourth Week of Lent

17 For I am about to create new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind.

18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating, for I am

about to create Jerusalem as a joy and its people as a delight.

19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem and delight in my people; no more shall  the sound of weeping be heard in it or the cry of distress.

20 No more shall there be in it an infant who lives but a few days or an old person who does not live out a lifetime, for one who dies at a hundred years will be considered a youth,     and one who falls short of a hundred will be considered accursed.

21 They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit” Isaiah 65:17-21.

A beautiful text from the Scriptures greets us this day in the 4th week of Lent. It promises us a viewpoint of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that could only come from God! It is a Word of hope and promise. In the life of Jesus Christ God is “about to create new heavens and a new earth!” Imagine that, we are celebrating a brand new creation — in Jesus Christ! “The former things shall not be remembered or come to mind.”

So it is time to “be glad and rejoice forever in what Jesus is creating!”

Whatever you are feeling or experiencing today, take time in prayer to tell God, “I am coming back to You today, at this very moment.” Clean and heal my heart of all sin and discouragement and put into my heart gladness and rejoicing. Create in me a new person, today! Today, turn me into a person of joy and delight in You!

Dear friends, remind yourselves what Jesus is saying to you today, that your weeping will be heard no more, and your cries of distress shall be wiped away. Believe that truth because it comes from the lips and mind of Christ.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
