“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” Ephesians 2: 8-9.
Consider the fact that, in reality, it takes Earth approximately 365.242189 days, or 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 45 seconds, to circle once around the Sun. But this day, like all days, is a gift God gives us all in our lives. Life is all about the grace of God — God giving us what we need, not what we deserve.
Take some time today to think of some of the most powerful times you have been aware of God’s amazing grace in your life. And give thanks in your prayer time to God for gracing you all the time.
This is such an amazing text above for us during Lent. So powerful! So true! And yet we forget this and struggle with it daily!
We listen to our own thinking and the thoughts and comments of others who leave us stressing about our inabilities “to do enough” to get into heaven. But here we are being told the truth: none of us can ever “do enough” to please God. But the truth is: we all rely on and live by the grace of God. And it is completely by the grace of God that we are saved. It is because of Christmas, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, the Ascension of Jesus Christ, and Pentecost that we are saved! And all that God asks of us is that we believe in Him, that we TRUST Almighty God. BELIEVE IN HIM! Put your faith in the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the unity of the Holy Spirit! Believe completely in Jesus Christ!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
Oh Lord, late have I loved You. So inconsistently have I loved You! But now I come back to You — through Your grace alone — humbly asking for Your forgiveness. Help me to follow You and to be obedient to You! One thing I know, and this I hang onto day in and day out — that I TRUST You completely. Who else can I trust in, for You have the words of everlasting life! I pray this through Jesus Christ, OUR LORD. Amen!
