...take Him into your life...

16 Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, 17 and after getting into a boat, they started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. 19 Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened. 20 But He said to them, “Do not be afraid. I AM.” 21 So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. 22 The next day the crowd that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other small boat there, except one, and that Jesus had not entered with His disciples into the boat, but that His disciples had gone away alone. 23 There came other small boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24 So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus” John 6:16-24.

I think verse 20 is the key verse here: But Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. I AM”

John 6:20. This is so reminiscent of Exodus 3 when God revealed the Divine name to Moses on Mount Sinai before the 1st Passover: “14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”

Exodus 3:14. Oh that I would never forget that the Creator and Savior of the world

has come to save us from the storms of life. And he will do much more than just walk across water for us when the winds of life try to blow us away from Him! Jesus will voluntarily mount the cross and remain there until His dead and beaten corpse is taken down and buried.

But don’t you love verse 21 that speaks clearly of the willingness of the disciples to receive Jesus into their boat? “21 So they were willing to receive Him into the boat” John 6:21. That’s a message for each of us! When you go through the most difficult times in life will you be willing to receive Jesus into your life, for only He can quench our thirst, calm our storms, and pull the winds down from the sky. Only Jesus can come and give us the peace that the world cannot understand. Only Jesus could this: “27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful” John 14:27.

Today pray that you will receive Jesus into your life to calm the storm you are facing. Pray that you never shut Him out again. Oh dear Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner. I want desperately to receive you into each and every day of my life — especially today — especially now. I need Your presence which bring me peace that the world will never understand. In Your Name I pray, amen.

From the Bible:

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world”John 16:33.

“May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way”

2 Thessalonians 3:16.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”Philippians 4:6.

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful” Colossians 3:15.
