...the bread of life...

Ghandi, who worked his whole life living among and helping to feed the poor, said this of Jesus: “How am I to talk of God to the millions who have to go without two meals a day. To them God can only appear as bread.” The reason Ghandi knew this to be true is because Jesus, Himself, said this of Himself: “Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty’John 6:35. And then Jesus completes His thought, saying: “37 Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and anyone who comes to me I will never drive away, 38 for I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me but raise it up on the last day. 40 This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last dayJohn 6:37-40.

If you are struggling, or you are doubting Jesus is who He says He is, chew on this text and swallow it. Let it take root in your heart. It is so very comforting. You can trust Jesus! You can hope in Him! He loves you and will feed you physically, Spiritually, emotionally, and eternally. Jesus is always present. He is who He says He is. Keep praying and keep reading the Bible, thinking deeply about what you read. Stay with Jesus. He will not disappoint you.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh” John 6:31.

“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst’” John 6:35.

“I am the bread of life” John 6:48.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body” Matthew 26:26.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life"John 3:16.

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” Isaiah 12:3.

“And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly”

Exodus 25:30.

“So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you”John 6:53.

“For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world”

John 6:33.
