“9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove upon him. 11 And a voice came from the heavens, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”
12 And the Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. 13 He was in the wilderness forty days, tested by Satan, and he was with the wild beasts, and the angels waited on him” Mark 1:9-13.
I have always been touched by this words that Jesus’ Father in heaven spoke to His Son on His Baptism: “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased” Mark 1:11. I have told my two sons and daughter that I love them very much indeed. I hope my actions each day show them how much I love them.
I believe this is the way God looks at each of us. He loves us and He says it in so many different ways every day. God sees us so much differently than we see ourselves. People who have never known Jesus, people who have never felt His love and presence in their life, may find it difficult or impossible to imagine God saying to them, “I love you and I am well pleased with you.”
This is true for one very compelling reason: Jesus is the Savior, the Messiah of everyone. And this is where our faith comes into play. We have to learn to live knowing this is the truth about God even if we don’t see it with our own heart. God loves us!. God loves us all. God love YOU!
When you were Baptized this is what God said to each of us, even if didn’t hear his voice with our own two ears: “I love and am well pleased with you!”
So live in faith because it is through your faith in God that you know that Jesus loves you and is well pleased with you even when you don’t see it!
Israel experienced this in their Exodus experience from Egypt. We experience when we leave our old life of sin behind and follow Christ!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living Godfather, have mercy on me a sinner.
From the Bible:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.
"We love because he first loved us” 1 John 4:19.
"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them” 1 John 4:16-19.
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we could be called children of God; and so we are” 1 John 3:1.
