...the truth is...it's all about love...

This morning, very early in the morning, my small church group headed to a women’s shelter in downtown Birmingham, AL, to cook and serve breakfast to a couple of dozen women, some with small children. Every time I serve others -- with others -- I always go home overflowing with the joy and grace of God. Women are often the recipients of great prejudice, and that breaks my heart. The love of God is often not given to women by others. But today the room was overflowing with love, and it touched me deeply.

I prayed for the tens of thousands of women and children who are being killed in Gaza and in the Ukraine. What a difference it makes when we insist on peace and love, and we put down our arms and our divisions, and our differences, and simply cook the poor and homeless some eggs and bacon and biscuits, and give them orange juice and coffee and fresh fruit. Everyone would go home feeling so good.

Will you join me and my small group from church pictured above and pray for peace in the life of everyone who is the recipient of prejudice and hatred!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Our Father in heaven, praised be Your holy name.

May Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread,

and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory are all Yours,

now and forever, Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
