...touch Jesus Christ...

There is a beautiful story in the Gospel of Mark when a woman sick for decades heard that Jesus was in her village. So in the midst of the large crowd who came to hear Jesus teach and heal the sick, this woman slipped through the crowd and touched the cloak Jesus was wearing — and she was healed. Jesus immediately cried out, “Who touched my clothes?…Who touched Me” Mark 5:30-31?

This story has alway spoken to me about my deepest needs and desires I wish to bring to God in prayer. I know that God hears me and feels me without my having to speak about these things in eloquent words. In fact, God already know what I am going to ask Him! Jesus told us this when He said, “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him” Matthew 6:8.

This is a key to pray. We don’t have to fix our daily prayer with a lot of words. In fact, it is more powerful to learn to sit in silence before God, and simply be in His presence. He already knows what you need and what is best for you. He doesn’t need our lengthy words. Keep it simple. Just coming to prayer is already proof that you have been drawn by God to pray. Jesus said this: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him” John 14:6-7.

So I hope you will reflect on these three (3) Scripture texts today.

Put yourself in one of the stories and consider what you feel and see!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
