“10 Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz, saying, 11 “Ask a sign of the Lord your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” 12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, and I will not put the Lord to the test.” 13 Then Isaiah said, “Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary mortals that you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son and shall name him Immanuel” Isaiah 7:10-14.
Here again we face the truth that Jesus will be Emmanuel, God With Us!
In many ways, this is the central meaning of Christmas, that no longer will be alone. We can’t be, after all, because all we do alone is fail. WE NEED JESUS TO BE WITH US ALWAYS! The birth of Christ reveals the persistence of our God who knows how we struggle with faith, and so he will give us any sign, any grace, to help us believe and live. The ever-presence of God lies in His Holy Spirit.
So pray today, but when you pray, feel deeply that God is with you.
Know that God is with you — every moment.
Come to Him who is present. Say nothing. Just be present to Him!
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
From the Bible:
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” Psalm 16:11.
“And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest”
Exodus 33:14.
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart” Jeremiah 29:13.
““Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” Matthew 5:8.
